Yes. Registering a pool or spa and lodging the Form 23 involves a council fee that is set by, and paid to, your local council. It is separate from our inspection fee and varies between councils.
What if my barrier fails — is a re-inspection extra?
If the barrier does not pass first time we give you a clear list of what to fix. A re-inspection to check the fixes may apply; we tell you the cost upfront so there are no surprises.
Should I just pick the cheapest pool inspection?
A Form 23 can only be issued by a VBA-registered building inspector or surveyor, so make sure whoever you book is registered. A cheap inspection that misses a fault, or a certificate that is not valid to lodge, can cost far more at settlement.
